In 1966 a guitarist Jimmy Page joined the Yardbirds, a blues-influenced rock band to replace the current bassist Paul Samwell Smith. Soon he became the lead guitarist for the band. Around 1968 The YardBirds broke up and Jimmy Page took over the band and renamed it Led Zeppelin. The group consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. Atlantic Records signed the Band in 1968. Their first album reached number 10 on the charts and the band entered the top 40 with “Whole Lotta Love,” which reached number 4. With the Upcoming year of 1970 the zeppelins grew more popular. with great songs such as Immigrant Song alone with Black Dog hit the billboard top 15, Rock and Roll hits 47 and Houses of the Holy,’ Led Zeppelin’s fifth album, becomes their third to reach number 1. Led Zeppelin performed their first series of concert since Knebworth. Singer Robert Plant was reluctant to tour the United State, The Band want to try to avoid the negative press attention in the United Kingdom, So the manager for the band scheduled a short tour in Europe. The band hope to restored Plant’s enthusiasm on touring, which hopefully will make him want to tour in the U.S. again. After the Band Rehearsed at Rainbow Theater and Victoria Theater in London, Led Zeppelin performed in a few small size gigs, with some of the longer songs such as “Moby Dick” and “No Quarters” getting removed, each gig was shortened to about two hours, however Albums “In Through the Out Door” and new song “Train Kept A - Rollin” was performed. The tour is surely Led Zeppelin’s minimal performances. However, the band also went through hard time at showings. The show at Vienna on June 26 was interrupted due to the fact that the lead guitarist was hit by a firecracker to the face during the “White Summer.” After a brief moment with the person who is responsible, the band returned to finish the show with “Kashmir.” at the show at Nuremberg on June 27, the main drummer John Bonham collapsed due to Alcohol poisoning. With no replacement for Bonham, the band fell apart. each band members were separated. The press stated "We wish it to be known that the loss of our dear friend, and the deep sense of undivided harmony felt by ourselves and our manager, have led us to decide that we could not continue as we were", signed Led Zeppelin.
