This article talks about how knee injures are more likely to happen to athletic girls than boys. An injury called anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) happens when the tissue is stretched too much or even torn. This injury happens more to girls than boys and does not happen in contact sports. Doctor Schullz said that knee pops and after the injury there is swelling. The injury is usually cause but sudden stops and change of direction. The risk of this this injury includes girls in age 12 or 13 and boys around age 14 or 15 and puberty is the main reason. And plus for girls hormones too. Some people after the injury can not play the sport anymore or they just have to wait certain time for healing. Once you have this injury there is a chance to have it in future again.
