Arabic religious music is different from English music. In America the main religion is Christianity so most of the worship songs are about worshiping Jesus because they're Christian. In Syria the main religion is Muslim so most of the songs are about God and how he asked us to act with people no matter what religion they are. There is not really much difference between the two but they both have different religions so one is Muslim, the other is Christian. In Syria only some of the old people are the ones who listen to religious music and really care about it. From my experiences almost no teenagers listen to religious music because we only care about the new songs that come up. Because some religious songs make you cry, and you want to be happy not sad, is probably why teenagers don’t listen to religious music. Also from my experiences from being in America for three years, I think that some teenagers listen to religious music because they believe in it strongly and they don’t like people to question their faith. At the same time the people who don't listen to that kind of music believe that we should live our lives and not care what religion we are because we don’t need to change anything if we are happy as we are.
FUTURE POST: In my next blog post, I will explain,
"What's the difference between crazy or action music in America and
Syria?"
